Alternative Waves Music Festival hosts metal, punk, and rock bands on one of Medicine Hat’s most historic streets, across the street from the historic CP Railway Station. The Mainliner Pub has indoor and outdoor stages where up to 200 musicians perform throughout the weekend.
A dozen bands, spanning many genres, play live in the heart of the city inside numerous business throughout Medicine Hat's Historic Downtown.
Medicine Hat JazzFest invites artists from all over the world to perform. When the weather is good, the audience sits underneath the summer sun on the rooftop terrace of the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre. Otherwise, the band and audience are both on stage for an intimate performance.
Porchfest is a free outdoor event hosted in one of Medicine Hat’s most historic neighbourhoods and invites local musicians to perform on front lawns and porches on the Southeast Hill. The quaint neighborhood is full of century-old homes and beautiful boulevards, where people can stroll from home to home to bask in the fresh air and watch the live, local performances.
Quonset Days presents very well known country artists in a Southeast Alberta farmland setting. A full weekend of live music, food trucks, and beer gardens. Local beef from Premium Sausage is featured in the classic “Quonset Dog”, a foot long hot dog. All profits are donated towards ALS Society of Alberta.
During Stampede Week, Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede hosts bands on the Grandstand Stage. The Night Shows host well-known artists in the music industry, with the Summer Jam kicking off the lineup of concerts.
Tongue on the Post hosts local and Canadian musicians inside the monumental National Historic Site, Medalta in the Historic Clay District. Watch soulful performances inside a beehive kiln that fired pottery in the early 1900s, or surrounded by brick that was stacked in 1913 in different spaces in the museum.
