To ProvideThe Highest Quality Food
Sammy was born and raised in India. As a young adult, she started cooking at the Korean Embassy while living in New Delhi.
While there, she learned and expanded her craft working with many incredible chefs. Then, after 13 years she made the courageous move and arrived in Alberta, Canada.
She was amongst the first to help introduce East Indian cuisine to Medicine Hat at the Medicine Hat Inn.
After a few years, she started working Tumbleweeds original owners Chris and Sandee where she became a Sous Chef and was able learn more about Western cuisine and fine dining.
Eventually in 2016, she started Sammy’s Little India. She introduced and helped popularise East Indian cuisine to many of those who had not tried it with her tasting parties and the Farmers’ Markets.
East Indian cuisine in Medicine Hat was still relatively unknown at this time, yet those who tried her Butter Chicken were hooked.
She eventually found a home at the Medicine Hat Curling Club. There she ran the kitchen and catered to the public, its members and the many bonspiels. She even found time to bring her Curry in a Hurry food truck, but unfortunately the timing was not quite right.
In 2022, her vision for a small restaurant where she could cook dishes from scratch slowly came to fruition.
Sammy’s Kitchen and Bar is a place she hopes you will come to dine at now and again when you feel the need for great food and the odd glass of wine or two.
