Medicine Hat's largest park is located a short distance west of the city and will welcome you with two constructed lakes, one for swimming and one for paddling and fishing, one beach volleyball court, several gazebos and many picnic spots with firepits, including an accessible spot. There are kilometres of hiking and mountain biking trails thoughout the coulees — one leads to Gas City Campground. This Regional Park is a starting point for kayaks, canoes, and inflatable boats with its boat launch beside the South Saskatchewan River.
Medicine Hat recently added 14 new trails in the last year that range in difficulty from green to black. From Gas City Campground to Echo Dale Regional Park, you can ride flowy trails right in the city!
Lay in the sand, have a swim in the water, find a tree to relax in the shade, or have your children play on the playground, whichever you choose will be a splendid day underneath the sunshine. There is a Swim Centre that has food, drinks, and your swim essentials! There is large green space that surrounds the sand, as well as picnic spots, and a gathering space that can be rented for larger groups.
Escape solely into pure prairie lands with coulees that surround and protect. Set up a tent or park your trailer and start a fire to indulge in s'mores. This space is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. With activities nearby, the swim lake, river, and walking and mountain biking trails, you'll never bore!
This free experience invites you to learn what a day on the homestead looked like more than 100 years ago. Walk to the farm from the swimming lake and take a tour of the historic farm house, and say hello to the farm animals!
