The Citizens walkabout theme is "Together We Are Strong," celebrating the resilience that empowers us to overcome barriers. This year's theme emphasizes disability pride while acknowledging the ongoing work required to ensure inclusivity. Having faced challenging times, particularly during the pandemic, our community has demonstrated tremendous strength and resilience. Our collective choices have enabled us to become the best versions of ourselves. A vital part of this journey is becoming leaders in our own lives and acquiring the necessary skills to do so. This all ages event is put on in collaboration with our partners at Southern Alberta Individualized Planning Association (SAIPA) with events happening simultaneously in Medicine Hat, Brooks, and Lethbridge. Medicine Hat’s event begins in Veterans Park, at 10:00 am until 1:00 pm with Speakers, Entertainers, food trucks, and of course the walk about itself is a round trip from the park to the Public Library along First Street.” Speakers include Mayor Clark, MLA Wright, MP Motz, REDI’s Executive Director Craig Wood, Linda McDonald, Azeez Badrudeen, and O Canada sung by Edmund Camphor .
