The Métis Cultural Celebration at Police Point Park is a vibrant and immersive event dedicated to honoring and showcasing Métis culture, traditions, and community spirit. This free, family-friendly gathering that brings people together to experience the rich heritage of the Métis through the lively sounds of Métis fiddling and the energetic, rhythmic movements of Métis jigging—both of which have been passed down through generations as expressions of joy, resilience, and identity. A key highlight of the celebration is the opportunity to enjoy li galette (bannock) cooked over an open fire, a traditional Métis staple that connects participants to the historic ways of Métis life.
