This year's headliner event for the festival's 20th anniversary brings you a real treat in Canadian Musical talent with the legendary music of none other than Valdy himself!! Still folkin & rockin’ at the fine age of 80!!
Valdy (born Paul Valdemar Horsdal in Ottawa) is a beloved Canadian folk/country singer-songwriter known for hits like "Rock and Roll Song," "Renaissance," and "Peter & Lou," blending thoughtful lyrics with a simple, hopeful, and humorous style, earning two Juno Awards and four Gold albums over a decades-long career. He's a prolific performer, recording numerous albums, touring extensively, and appearing on TV, including as "Halibut Stu" on The Beachcombers.
Opening the headliner evening is the Music Nova Scotia Artist of the Year for 2025 & rising star, Terra Spencer! Raised on the mud banks of the Avon River, award-winning Nova Scotian funeral director-turned-songwriter Terra Spencer charms audiences with her deft guitar, gospel piano, butterscotch voice, crackling wit, and wood-paneled warmth. Her startlingly intimate songs have caught the eye of collaborators including David Francey, Stephen Fearing, and Matt Andersen.
Every show is a knee-to-knee conversation with a natural storyteller. “The real deal.” Ron Sexsmith
