The Kiwanis Club of Medicine Hat – Gas City is a long‑standing community service organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth in Medicine Hat and the surrounding area. Chartered in 1961, the club brings together volunteers from diverse backgrounds to support and lead programs that promote youth development, safety, education, and community well‑being. Their local initiatives include Terrific Kids, Safety City, school nutrition and activity programs, Elm Street School events, Norm Payne Awards, Safe Grads, and seasonal fundraiser events that help support these efforts. The club also operates the Kiwanis kitchen trailer and participates in community events throughout the year, reinforcing its presence across the region. Beyond youth‑focused services, Kiwanis members contribute to community spaces such as Kiwanis Central Park, which offers year‑round recreation including a playground, water park, and winter ice rink, as well as hosting social and fundraising events at the Kiwanis Centre that support local groups and causes. Through volunteerism, fundraising, and collaboration, the Kiwanis Club strives to make a positive and lasting impact on young people and the broader Medicine Hat community.
