Dragon boating is a fun-filled, adrenaline pumping, water sports activity. Teams compete in Dragon Boats, which are large canoe-like vessels fitted with ornately carved dragon's heads and tails. Crews of up to 20 people sit in pairs and paddle. Each boat has a drummer beating time to keep the paddlers in unison, and a helmsperson in the stern to guide the boat. Come out and have some fun, and get that summer time exercise you always wanted, season runs from mid May to mid September. Presently we have an all female team that practices at Elkwater on Thursday evenings as well as an all female team that practices at Elkwater on Sunday evenings, we are looking to grow our membership by possibly adding another all female team or mixed male/female team as well as a youth team for the 2026 season.
