Ride the Battle Creek Showdown

In August:

Come down to Elkwater in the Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park for a fun and friendly competition hosted by the 670 Collective Mountain Bike Club. The club has worked tirelessly to build and maintain sustainable trails locally, including the Redcliff bike skills park. 100% of the proceeds go towards 670’s trail building projects, so more sick trails for us to ride! Afterwards, saddle up and head to CAMP Cookhouse for the Battle Creek Hoedown, an evening of live music, beverage specials, and camaraderie!

The 670 Collective Mountain Bike Club is committed to building and maintaining new environmentally sustainable and legal trails for its community of mountain bikers and future generations to enjoy. We are the voice in promoting our sport, living an active lifestyle and connecting with nature. We believe that, with the two distinctive and dramatic landscapes of the badlands of the Medicine Hat area and the rugged mountain like-terrain of the Cypress Hills, our region can someday become a popular destination for mountain bikers in Western Canada and the US.

Medicine Hat Gran Fondo

In June:

Do you ride where you travel? Be astonished and surprised by joining the Medicine Hat Gran Fondo as it ventures beyond the city limits to meander through the rolling hills southeast of Medicine Hat and deep into Cypress County. This route is challenging, with elevation gains that rival Gran Fondos in the Alberta Rockies and even Penticton. The elevation will work in your favor after the last turnaround with long downhill stretches to bring you to the finish. All three routes are very rural, dotted only with farmhouses and churches.

Put your training to the test in mild temperatures with a safe and scenic course throughout the Medicine Hat area.

Gran Fondos are mass participation cycling events that are gaining in popularity across North America. (Like a marathon, but for cyclists). Loosely translated from the Italian, Gran Fondo means “big ride” and can refer to a long distance ride, or a ride with a large number of riders.

Gran Fondos are for cyclists of all abilities. Everyone from the competitive cyclist to the amateur can and do enjoy this events-they are known for the range of cyclists they attract.

Test Of Humanity

The Test of Humanity Bike Race is a fun way to support education for students in Africa while enjoying a day out with friends and family. Participants are split into age categories to race, and solo cyclists or teams compete against each other to complete the trail loop as many times as possible in a set window of time. Younger cyclists race to complete the track once. Prizes are given to the winning team or solo cyclist in each category. Participants register individually, or in teams. Teams are encouraged to challenge each other for prizes in the categories of: highest total of donations on their team pledge page, most outrageous team outfits, and others. During race day, fun family activities will provide a great way to spend the time while cheering on the cyclists, or waiting for your turn to race. An awards ceremony completes the day with prizes for each category’s winners.
