Sun City Ford & SMG are thrilled to announce Medicine Hat’s 4th annual outdoor festival, Cars & Guitars, on Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Canalta Centre. 

The festival kicks off with Cypress Rod and Custom Car Club Cruise downtown on Friday at 5 pm.

Then, Canalta Centre opens up the Outdoor Sun City Stage Friday night at 8 pm with THE HIP – Tragically Hip Tribute and special guest opening band to be announced.

Saturday starts off with the Cypress Rod and Custom Classic Car Show at 11 am as well as a variety of food vendors, retail vendors, outdoor beer patio, FREE kids activities, pin-up contest and more.

Plus, the popular DYNO RUNS will be returning! 

New this year is the addition of a Vocal Talent contest on Saturday afternoon. There will be 3 age groups (10-13; 14-17 and Adult) in solo and duo categories.

Saturday night, more great classic rock tribute bands will take the stage at 8 pm 

(BAD MOON RIDERS – CCR Tribute and EAGLE EYES – Eagles Band Tribute). 

“This festival brings in almost $1 million in Economic Impact to Medicine Hat and the Canalta Centre is thrilled to produce this for the community,” says General Manager, Tammy Sweeney. “We are so proud to once again host this affordable, annual event that the whole family can come and enjoy.The addition of some new elements promises to make Cars & Guitars bigger and better than ever.
