Elkwater Events to be Ecstatic Over!

There are tons of activities going in Elkwater this summer!! They’ve got calendars here and here for you to check out specific dates and times, but see below for an overview of the weekly schedule!

 

Most activities ask that you pre-register at the Visitor Information Centre. Their phone number is 403-893-3833.

 

Sunday

Forest Oasis: Guided Hike

-The name says it all! A guided hike through the forest oasis that is Cypress Hills!

10:15-11:45am

-Ages 8+, FREE

Monday

10 000 Milliliters Under the Lake

-Wade through the water to collect the tiniest of organisms living in Elkwater lake. Catch them with nets, then view them up close under a microscope!

10:15-10:45am

-Ages 6+, $5/person

 

Wicked Weeds and UFOs

-Learn about invasive plant species, then become a part of the solution! After you learn about why plants are invasive and what can be done, you'll get to be apart of the invasive species removal.

-Ages 16+, FREE

 

Learn to Fish

-Learn to how to fish Great Northern Pike in its natural environment! You'll be instructed on casting, reeling and other techniques.

10:45-11:45am

-Ages 5+, $5/person

 

Discover Mountain Biking

-Learn about the equipment, the terrain and the skill building involved in mountain biking! Includes lesson and rental.

1-2:30pm

-Ages 12+, $50/person

 

Geocaching

-Solve puzzles and clues, and use your GPS to find treasure hidden in the hills!

2:30-3:30pm

-Ages 8+, $5/person

Tuesday

Look, See, Paint

-Try your hand at recreating the beautiful Cypress Hills with a paintbrush!

Wednesday
