It’s winter, and it's such a great time to be out and about in Medicine Hat! We love getting out to enjoy the great weather. So here are some of our top parks to enjoy the snow.

1. Police Point Park
This park is a wonderful spot in winter & summer! In winter you can enjoy the trails all through the park...on foot, x-country skis, and snowshoes! The latter two are rentable at the Nature Centre. You can also enjoy the StoryWalk, a partnership between Police Point Park and the Medicine Hat Public Library. Walk the trail and read the storybook that is laid out page by page. If you are there when the Nature Centre is open you can go in to get a coupon to take to the Medicine Hat Public Library for a prize!
Pro Tip: Want to enjoy the nature of this park while inside? They have a comfy chair in a big window that overlooks the bird feeders!

2. Kin Coulee
Love to sled? Well after a fresh bit of snow this might be the best hill for sledding in Medicine Hat! With a set of stairs beside the big hill, and lights to keep you out there into the evening, it's one of the best ways to spend a snow day! Helmets are recommended!
Pro Tip: Bring all your campfire gear to utilize the firepits throughout the park! Roasted Marshmellows...mmmmmm

3.Central Park
Three Words: Winter Disc Golf
Okay we will add some more! If you haven’t played disc golf in the winter you really need to, and if you haven't played disc golf at all then you really really need to! It’s a great activity for all, and something you can do all year round! In addition to that, when the weather is right you can skate on the great little skating rink located in this park. With low boards, and lights into the evening, this is a great little ice sheet to enjoy during the winter.

4. Cypress Hills
This awesome winter oasis is full of snowy fun! For starters there is Hidden Valley, which is a great little ski hill that offers 8 runs, a quad chair, and a great beginners area! There is also 30+kms of groomed cross-country ski trails, and an additional 30+kms of snowshoe trails, with both x-country skis and snowshoes available to rent at the Visitor Centre. Looking for something a little different? How about the tree lines skating trail, or the snow luge track? Try them all and have an EPIC day of fun!

Those are a few of our favourite parks in and around Medicine Hat! So check them out while the snow is still here! Then let us know which one is your favourite!
